Pros and Cons

Pros of the OnePlus Open
Sleek, Thin, and Light Design: It is one of the thinnest and lightest large foldables on the market (starting at 239g), making it feel much closer to a traditional, non-folding premium phone when closed.
Best-in-Class Foldable Camera System: It features the best overall cameras on a foldable, with a flagship 48MP main sensor (with OIS) and a powerful 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, tuned with Hasselblad.
Minimal Display Crease: The crease on the inner folding display is barely visible and almost non-tactile, which significantly improves the viewing and touch experience compared to many rivals.
Excellent Dual Displays: Both the large inner (7.82-inch) and outer (6.31-inch) LTPO AMOLED screens are extremely bright (up to 2800 nits peak), feature a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and the cover screen has a very usable, traditional aspect ratio.
Flagship Performance and Memory: It is powered by the top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset paired with a generous 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, providing lightning-fast performance and multitasking.
Cons of the OnePlus Open
No Wireless Charging: The device lacks support for wireless charging, a feature commonly found on other flagship and foldable phones in this high price bracket.
Basic Water Resistance (IPX4): It only carries an IPX4 rating for splash resistance, which means it can handle light rain but offers significantly less water immersion protection than the IPX8 rating found on its main competitor (Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series).
Large, Protruding Camera Module: The rear camera array is housed in a very large, prominent circular bump that causes the phone to wobble significantly when laid flat on a table.
No Official Stylus Support: Unlike some rivals, the OnePlus Open does not officially support an active stylus (pen input) for note-taking or drawing on the main folding display.
Slower Wired Charging (67W): While fast (full charge in about 42 minutes), the 67W wired charging is slower than the 80W and 100W+ speeds seen on other OnePlus flagships, which may be disappointing for loyal users.
